Prodigy Math Game - Titan Barrier

But lets start from what the game does bring before pointing out the negatives. Every time I want to say something about the newest Need for Speed whether it would be on a forum, or a blog or simply to a friend of mine, I cannot do so unless I compare it to one of the previous installments.

I guess it is understandable as Need for Speed is one of the longest still running franchises and through the years it had many ups and downs, it had very arcade-style racers and some quite realistic ones.

However, I still consider its successor Porsche Unleashed to be the best game yet and it seems unlikely this will change any time soon.

What I really enjoy about them is the feel of driving a cool car with mind-boggling speed but without all the cons this can have in real life.

In other words, I like the moderate realism — no gear shifts or uncontrollable vehicles in tight turns but I still need a good physics engine, challenging opponents and at least a simple damage system.

It seemed to lack any kind of physics whatsoever making driving feel like controlling RC cars. Unfortunately, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is quite similar.

This killed a great deal of the fun for me. I really had hoped for better experience with this aspect as the current generation has the CPU power to achieve it not that it was needed for Porsche Unleashed which had most likely the best physics engine of all games in the franchise.

If we put this major flaw aside I quite enjoyed the car park the game offered. I simply cannot accept having no customization on the cars as negative as some reviewers tried to make it.

I cannot agree a Pagani Zonda needs some year-old sticking colorful vinyls and putting spinners on the rims.

The time a developer needs to pull such customizations off is better spent elsewhere. The graphics the game offered were also pretty good with some lightning effects standing out.

However, the generic lightning looked a bit dull at times and could use some polishing. Another great feature all Need for Speed games simply forget about since Porsche Unleashed is the damage system that actually matters.

One thing is having to pay almost as much as you paid for the car in repair bills after a bad race, completely different thing is simply clicking the restart button.

It seemed like a step in the right direction. There is a large room for improvements which can keep Criterion quite busy. On the other hand, there is quite a chance EA will simply maintain the current separation — Shift — very realistic, Criterion future games — super cars, cops and wild chases with very arcade gameplay.

They seem to be able to keep things in the middle quite well. Just for the sake of it. If I am to rate the game as it is, an arcade racer I would give it 8.

But for me it is a straight…. After a while though I got bored with playing Bad Company 2 and decided to give Ezio a chance. All the great reviews circling around the Internet did work their magic too.

I simply hate having my disks constantly in the drives or even worse having to switch them to play different games. However, I picked the game late enough that they managed to fix all the bad things in it.

And yes, whatever haters say, saving games on a server is a lot better than saving them locally. Altair also has a finger in the whole deal which was quite a neat idea building up the immersion in the world.

Not that it needs that. The cities look better than ever. Each one of them has a unique feel, each one of them is filled with unique characters.

The game swarms the player with historical information about the Renaissance, the cities and their rulers. Not a long into the game Ezio meets Leonardo da Vinci who becomes his trusted engineer and decrypter.

In other words, the presentation layer of the game is perfect. Graphics are gorgeous, running around, climbing buildings is fun, voice acting is good and the only thing that can spoil it are the somewhat strange gestures the NPCs make during cutscenes.

I believe Ubisoft could have spent a bit more time smoothing those up. One of the major problems of the first installment was its boring repetitive side-quests which were necessary to get to the assassination story missions.

In the second game there are no necessary side-missions so anyone can rush through the main story line. There are still some assignments that one can do to get extra money.

However, they being passable is a plus. Especially since money are so easy to get once all the upgrades to the villa are built.

I even spent money on buying all the paintings and then just walked around the room watching my collection, even though I realized how silly it was. Fighting yet another target dummy.

What I disliked about it were small frustrating things that actually built up my somewhat negative impression on the game.

Running on roofs gets constantly hindered by the millions of archers that patrol them which have to be killed.

Fighting anything gets incredibly easy once the first smoke bomb is obtained. Most side missions require the player to run across the whole city to complete killing at least 20 archers in the process.

Apart from those issues the game builds up pretty nicely. It has some stylish dungeons to explore, a very nice story that spans over almost two decades and a grand finale that should keep you excited for 2 years eagerly awaiting the next installment.

It seemed to me it is getting released too soon which made me believe Awakening is either short and undeserving its price tag or some big part of the original game was cut to be later used for extra cash.

However, I dislike getting incomplete products. Fortunately, neither of my concerns proved true. On top of that, the expansion tag lowers the price of what can easily surpass other fully priced games in both length, diversity and fun factor.

Come on, when was the last time you saw an expansion for a game? The game industry started throwing only the so-called DLC at us which are usually overpriced for the content they bring.

Maybe it was the World in Conflict: Soviet Assault and it was released like a century ago. The toughest dragon in the game. Being a darkspawn terminator our character needs to save his new castle.

Dwarven city this way. The quest leads to a variety of new locations made with a lot of design skill. Of course, we visit the Fade and the Deep Roads actually more than once , as well as some haunted forest and the city of Amaranthine.

During our travels we meet new faces as well as some old ones. Apart from the quick and easily forgettable appearance of Alistair who is king at least in my story we very soon find Oghren who is well … drinking.

He is as fun as always and easily shines over the rest of the party. Not that the rest is boring though. I just liked this expansion too much to bring up such small issues.

So the final verdict — a must-buy. Especially for those who enjoyed the original game. I find Awakening superior in many ways and a really enjoyable game as a whole.

Somehow playing with retards shooting other retards without any story or clearly understandable purpose never appealed to me. At the end I probably did buy it solely because of some friends that really wanted to try it out.

This desire of theirs completely ruined the PC version of the game. What a surprise it was that Bad Company 2 does have a real PC version.

The game looks and plays like a PC game and this is enough for me. And there are dedicated servers. EA clearly won my heart on this.

Everything from a small tree to large buildings can be completely annihilated given the proper amount of firepower. Destruction is one major asset that lets Bad Company 2 stand up in front of the competition.

Even my GTX has problems keeping the frame rate high enough during some more spectacular explosions. In any case it is worth it.

It is not even just a visual effect that we are talking about. The environments are constantly changing making what it was a secure spot into an open field.

Every round on the maps becomes different. To much of my displease the game did not run as apparently the backwards compatibility was only possible with a hard disk.

My Arcade console was grinning quietly before me as I was wondering what to do. This time the game ran and I had the questionable joy of playing it on my rig.

The first touch with the game was troublesome. Not only its mouse support was terrible but also it managed to heat up my GTX in a way even Crysis was unable to.

Fortunately, nothing bad happened and I managed to complete it only to wonder how on earth can I play Halo 3 on a joypad as Halo 2 was quite hard on mouse and keyboard.

Shooters on consoles were never my specialty. It had its moments and as a whole it left mainly positive impressions. I do not fall into the category of spoiled kids who think great game equal great graphics and prove to this is my ongoing playthrough of the original Unreal.

But the game did feel old and I am sure it would be more enjoyable if I had the opportunity to play it on its release. I was looking forward to Halo 3.

Not only because I wanted to see what the console is capable of but also because I already knew it will conclude the main story ark.

First of all, the game delivered tons of fun. The game felt a lot easier than its predecessor and actually just difficult enough to still kill me when I was doing mistakes but not killing me every time I missed with my gun which certainly looked like the case with Halo 2.

Bungie made a masterpiece of a shooter with everything that Halo is all about in its glorious ending. The limited hardware did have its impact with some blurry visuals but Bungie countered it with a lot of style, magnificent work with lightning and artistic landscapes.

The intense ending sequence made me wonder what else could Bungie bring on the table. Reach was also on the horizon at that time. And as a whole the game was a bit disappointing.

The Rookie missions were kinda dull and uninspiring. The rest were fine although I did miss the imaginative scenery of the halos. Instead I had to fight in a city which got boring sooner than expected.

I had my doubts about Reach. It is inevitable with any strong series. Neither of the games I had played suffered from such frame drops and screen tearing.

I am not going to write much about the customization of the main character. It is fairly good but to get the points needed for unlocking the cool stuff you really need to get into some multiplayer matches and I mostly played through Halo for its campaign stories.

If we put the performance issues aside, I admired the return of nature as battleground. I got sick of streets in ODST. Neither of the missions felt repetitive in scenery.

The story also made me quite happy. The Noble team felt real. The characters were strong, passionate and the dialog between them had this vibe of doom.

As if they knew that their mission would sooner of later kill them and they had accepted it. The actors voicing them only help to give this feeling.

I have to give my special admirations to the space combat mission which was unfairly criticized in many reviews. With the story tightening its grasp around the Noble team I started to feel this uneasiness often surrounding a good movie.

Once against put against impossible odds the game concludes Noble-6 story in an even better ending sequence than Halo 3.

On a closing note, I am really happy Bungie is going to work on a new franchise now. It is the perfect opportunity for them to move on and MS to get someone else to deal with the inevitable decline of the series.

While its lack of features and somewhat clumsy design especially of the controller would prevent it from replacing PS3 as my favorite, its strong list of exclusives made it a fair bargain.

A few years ago I tried to make a list of my top 10 favorite games of all time and the pink madness of Team 17 easily ended up in top 5.

This is why I was so happy to find that the British studio is making a new game of the franchise. First of all, Worms Reloaded is a 2D game. After all, Worms is all about pure fun, not modern graphics or gameplay innovations.

The second thing that quickly came to my attention was the capacity of the teams which was reduced to 4. I was thinking about it and this reduction is clearly out of logic.

I really hope a patch will be released at some point fixing this minor problem. Other than that the game feels just as fun as it can be expected.

The graphics is gorgeous with tons of small details that can make anyone smile. Lots of customization options are available and there is plenty of content for singleplayer.

Not that anyone cares for the latter when you have friends at your place and you need something entertaining to do.

Worms Reloaded is the perfect choice. A couple of weeks ago I finally decided to close my account for good and as there is no option to delete it permanently except maybe by calling customer support I simply deleted my characters and sent my gold to friends.

Long story short, I believe I will have the time to write in the blog again and I feel eager to do so as well. A good place to start is the 3rd session recap.

The group was very busy with other stuff during the summer so we are restarting the adventure next week. I also have a few drafts I was thinking of finally finalizing.

Hope you have a nice time reading.
